Town Historian and Framingham History Center volunteer, Fred Wallace, will present a sequel to his first work on General George H. Gordon that uncovers a critical piece of the General’s Civil War story. Antietam was the one battle that Gordon did not write about and Wallace felt compelled to learn more about his role in the bloodiest day of the war. After visiting the Antietam National Battlefield, exhausting the National Archives and local sources, Wallace brings us the answers to what happened that day in the cornfield. How did a “magnificent charge” influence the monumental Union victory in the dark days of 1862? Join us for the launch of this publication and book signing. Suggested donation $5 and the book will be selling for $15.00.
