Rte 9 – Shoppers World, Framingham

Mark Adam’s “Turn Right at Machu Picchu” is the topic this month. In 1911, Hiram Bingham III climbed into the Andes Mountains of Peru and “discovered” Machu Picchu.  While history has recast Bingham as a villain who stole both priceless artifacts in addition to receiving credit for finding the great archeological site, Mark Adams sets out to retrace the explorer’s perilous path in search of the truth.

The History/Biography Book Group, a partnership effort of the FHC and Barnes & Noble is now in its 11th year!  Free and open to the public, the group meets on the 3rd Wednesday of each month except December with selections chosen by group members.  For more information about the History Book Group, click here.
