(Editor’s note: Daily News correspondent Matt Tota was invited to participate in the Civil War Encampment in Framingham. The following is his take on what the day was like.)
I was an artifact with a pulse. I was a walking painting, a talking sculpture. I was, above all else, a Confederate soldier, entrenched yesterday with the 12th Georgia Infantry, killing time listening to songs and stories near a crackling fire.
