Sunday, May 15th, 12:00 – 5:00 p.m.
A self-guided tour featuring:
- A First Period home (1696) remarkably preserved because it was in the same family for 252 years — a preservationist’s dream…
- Another early homestead (ca 1705) most recently renovated to accentuate its Federal style architecture
- A 1980 luxurious timber framed home with soaring cathedral ceilings & a Palladian window overlooking a nearby meadow
- An Arts & Crafts style home in a serene pond-side setting surrounded by terraced gardens
- An 1812 boarding house rehabilitated by Wallace Nutting in the early 1900s
- Refreshments at a repurposed schoolhouse built in 1839 — one of only two early schoolhouses remaining in town
How a House Tour works: This is a self-guided tour. The ticket holder receives the House Tour Booklet at the Old Academy, 16 Vernon St, which acts as your ticket, and it lists the homes on the tour with historical descriptions. Once the ticket holder has the booklet, he/she is free to visit the homes at their own pace between 12 and 5pm. Ticket holders must use their own mode of transportation to reach the designated homes. Parking instructions will be included in each home description – read carefully! Restrooms will be available at the refreshment stop, which will be highlighted in the booklet as well.
Tickets: $30 (Mother’s Day Special now through May 8th), $35 (after May 8th) – FHC member discount $5
Purchase tickets below, mail checks made out to FHC to P.O. Box 2032, Framingham, MA 01703, or purchase day of tour at the Old Academy, 16 Vernon St., Framingham from 11:00-2:00.
