“It is more than a profession – it is an unconditional commitment to serve humanity.”

— Edward O’Reilly, Esq., What it Means to Be a Firefighter

On April 4th, 1853, the Town of Framingham officially approved and accepted the Governor’s Act to Authorize a Fire Department in the Town of Framingham. On April 4th, 2025, in partnership with the Framingham History Center, the City of Framingham, and the 325th Anniversary Celebration Committee, we will celebrate the birthday of the Framingham Fire Department!

Join the Framingham Fire Department and Mayor Sisitsky for a special event from 12–2 PM at the Village Hall on the Common. The festivities will include an artifact exhibition, opportunities to explore vintage and in-service fire trucks, and a chance to meet your local firefighters! Remarks will be given by Mayor Sisitsky and Fire Chief Dutcher.

Come celebrate this historic milestone with us!
