For nearly two centuries, Framingham’s Village Hall on the Common has been a stage for creativity, community, and performance. This year, we are honored to welcome Dr. Kathy A. Perkins, an award-winning theatrical lighting designer, scholar, and historian, as our featured speaker at the FHC Annual Meeting for Women’s History Month.
Dr. Perkins’ remarkable career has taken her from Broadway to global stages, but her journey also led her to a fascinating local discovery in 1988: the work of early 20th-century artist Meta Warrick Fuller, whose hand-crafted props were used by the Framingham Players in Village Hall on the Common. In this special presentation, Dr. Perkins will share how she uncovered Fuller’s contributions to design and stagecraft through a mutual friend, connecting her to a collection that she recently donated to the Framingham History Center and that will be on view for guests.
Join us for an evening of history, design, and rediscovery as we celebrate Women’s History Month and the legacy of theatrical artistry in Framingham.
The Annual Meeting and the lecture are free and open to the public, however, only active members may vote during the Annual Meeting.
