August Happenings
Just a short blog this week!
Since my last blog, work on the Dennison collection has steadily increased. I am putting more focus on going through all the scrapbooks and recording their contents before my time here is through. Because of the magnitude of the scrapbooks, I thought this would be a challenging goal for me!
Two weeks ago, I began the task of entering all of the records volunteers and I have been making into PastPerfect museum software. PastPerfect is an online database for all FHC collections. It allows anyone at the FHC to look up an item, check a location or simply research for a subject that interests them. It is a great tool for our technology-friendly world because paper records do not last forever, and it is imperative that future generations have access to this amazing collection. Below are some images of more great Dennison finds!
We have had 3 great children’s programs at the Edgell Memorial Library lately. Two weeks ago, Pat Lavin played Parlor Games and last week, and Libby Franck held story hour based on Framingham’s Legends & Lore. This week Pat hosted Parlor Games again and it was a perfect program for a gloomy day. These free programs, thanks to the NorthEast Community Bank, were part of the Summertime on the Centre Common series. I’m including some pictures from those children’s programs in this post.
Thanks for reading! Next week’s blog will be my last so be sure to tune in!
