Description
B. & A. R.R. DEPOT The mounted sepia print shows the railroad station with its long covered shed and central gothic clock tower. A freight car is visible behind the building. The depot of the Boston and Albany Railroad was moved several yards down the line a few years after the 1880 view was taken. On the site was built the romanesque stone depot designed by Henry Hobson Richardson. By 1980 the building had fallen into a state of abandoned disrepair. The Richardson depot was finally restored as a restaurant in 1985.
