Description
UNION BUILDING The mounted sepia print of a three-story building displays a number of shop signs: Moses Wood, Watch maker; C.C. Train, Jr., Law Office; F. M. Emory, Insurance Office; Framingham Gazette; J. C. Clark & Son, Steam Printing Works; Railroad Advertising Company; Framingham Wheel Works. The central sign identifies the building as the Union Block. Across from the depot, the Union Block was a three story wooden business building in 1880 and survived to 1980 as Framingham's only surviving wooden business block, although without its third floor. It was later renovated by Lew Horton, who also restored the depot.
