Description
ENTRANCE TO EDGELL GROVE CEMETERY The mounted sepia print shows a stone gateway, and a drive leading into a wooded area. The Edgell Grove Cemetery was already forty years old when the gothic stone gates were set up, shortly before the 1880 view was taken. They were designed by Framingham architect Alexander Rice Esty. By 1980, they were hidden by shrubs. Note that the tree to the left of the 1880 photo remains as a stump in 1980.
