Description
BAPTIST CHURCH The mounted sepia print shows a white clapboarded church of colonial design, with pillars at the front. The First Baptist Church, which now overlooks Route 9, is the oldest public building in Framingham, and the first to be listed in the National Register of Historic Places. It was built in 1826, having been designed by Solomon WIllard, who also designed the Bunker Hill Monument. Over 100 years, the only change in its appearance is the loss of the tower railings during the 1938 hurricane.
