| FRAMINGHAM HOTEL The mounted sepia print shows a clapboarded three-story building with a pillared porch, and a picket fence at right. The sign on the building reads "Framingham Hotel." To the east of the Esty Block was the Framingham Hotel, built in 1797 and torn down in 1930 when the old Boston-Worcester Turnpike was rebuilt as Route 9. In 1965, the site was used for the Framingham Public Library, still in use as a branch library in 1980, and now occupied by several businesses. |
