On Union Ave. and Ordway Street (now William Welch Way) the armory was built in 1908 and used by the National Guard until 1959, when it moved to the new armory on Concord Street. The town acquired it and the attached rear shed in 1960, and the Union Ave. Garage building behind it in 1961. It became the police station, which was recently remodeled. At left is Grace Church, the wooden building that preceeded today's stone structure.
