Description |
Colored Postcard, "Gordon's Corner, Framingham, Mass." Published by the Valentine & Sons' Publishing Co., New York and Boston Hand written message addressed to Miss Robin Ward of S. Framingham
The photo shows the view looking north, with Edgell Road on the left and Central Street on the right. Both were dirt roads at the time. The signpost and large oak to the left still exist in 2009. The intersection is named for Framingham Civil War General George H. Gordon, commander of the 2nd Massachusetts Volunteer Infantry Regiment in 1861. Gordon's house stands nearby on the south side of Central Street near the Sudbury River. |
