Description
SAXONVILLE, FROM DANFORTH HILL The mounted sepia print shows buildings crowded on a slope. A factory chimney is visible at far left. The overview of Saxonville village from Danforth Hill is almost totally screened by trees in 1980. Only the tall smokestack of the mill, at the left, can be seen in both pictures. At the right in the 1880 view can be seen the steeple of the new Methodist church and the cupola of the Saxonville High School. Now both the steeple and the high school are gone. The old Methodist church is in the left foreground, on the former Church Street.
