Description
NOBSCOT BUILDING The mounted sepia print shows a three-story building with a shop sign that reads "Clifford Folger & Co." over the porch. Between to second-floor windows is a sign reading "Bank." Many people, mostly men, are on the porch and in the street in front of the building. The Nobscot Building stood just south of the South Common in 1880. At that time it contained Clifford Folger's dry goods store and the Framingham district court. Replaced in the 1930s by a brick building housing a J.J. Newbury store, it was used for several smaller businesses by 1980.
