SUMMARY:Clopener of Framingham’s Collective Journeys
DESCRIPTION:\nClopener of Framingham’s Collective Journeys\nThursday, June 25 | 6:00-7:00 p.m.\nEdgell Memorial Library | During the Framingham Farmers Market\nNo registration required!\nclopener (noun) | kloh-puh-ner: borrowed from the restaurant world; one who shows up when something is closing and helps open what comes next.\n\n\nJoin the Framingham History Center for a special community gathering marking the close of the onsite exhibition Framingham’s Collective Journeys: Stories of Immigration, 1960-Present and the beginning of its next chapter as a traveling exhibition!\nHosted by the Framingham History Center and MC’d by co-curator Patrick St. Pierre, this gathering will include oral history moments told by people featured in the exhibition and an invitation to help shape what comes next.\n\n\nWhether you’re new to the exhibition or have seen it each step along the way, please come and share your own reflections on what the exhibition has meant, what stories still need to be included, and how the traveling version can continue to reflect the many communities that make up Framingham.\nOriginally opened in 2024, Framingham’s Collective Journeys was the Framingham History Center’s first multilingual, community co-curated exhibition in its 130 year history. Its creation led to co-curators Patrick St. Pierre and Anna Tucker being named Framingham Cultural Council’s 2024 Arts & Culture Contributors of the Year, and to the Framingham History Center receiving the singular 2024 Mass History Commendation from Mass Humanities, the Massachusetts affiliate of the National Endowment for the Humanities.\nStop by from the Farmers Market, enjoy some light refreshments, and help us reflect on where this exhibition has been while imagining where it can go next.\n\n
