Led by Shani Turner and Maria Turner of the Nipmuc Community, this special “Hike through History” will provide insight into the ongoing traditions and connections of the vibrant Nipmuc community today. Generously provided by the City of Framingham’s 325th Anniversary Committee.\n\nAbout our Guides: \n\nMaria Turner is a member of the Nipmuc Community. She holds a Master’s Degree in Education and Counseling. Maria recently retired from the Department of Children and Families and currently serves as the Director of the Indian Child Welfare Act (ICWA) program for the Mashpee Wampanoag Tribe.\n\nShani Turner is a member of the Nipmuc Community. Shani is very active in her community and has organized several Wampanoag Week celebrations for Mashpee schools.
