SUMMARY:2025 Big Band Music Social Dance
DESCRIPTION:Date: Friday, September 19th | 7:00 – 10:00 PM\nEvent: Big Band Music Social Dance\nCost: $35\n\n\nBig Band Music Returns to Framingham! Our Big Band Music Weekend kicks off with a lively community dance at Framingham’s historic Village Hall. Enjoy live music from Dan Gabel and his Orchestra, an 18-piece swing orchestra known for their vibrant, authentic renditions of hits from the Great American Songbook.\n\nThe evening will feature special guest vocalist Margi Gianquinto. Margi is an established New York vocalist celebrated for her vintage style singing. Her repertoire recalls the elegance and charm of icons like Peggy Lee, Julie London, and Johnny Mathis. A frequent headliner at New York’s legendary Birdland Jazz Club, she is also an expert in vintage vocal group harmony singing, captivating audiences with her authentic sound.\n\nWhether you are a seasoned dancer or just here for the fun, the night begins with a beginner-friendly dance lesson followed by a full evening of dancing. Light concessions and a signature mocktail will be available for purchase.\n\nGuests are invited to enjoy a pop-up exhibit in the lobby that explores Framingham’s golden age of nightlife along Route 9. Framingham’s music and entertainment scene flourished in the mid-20th century with venues like the Monticello, Meadows, and the iconic Maridor. This dance pays tribute to those lively times and the popular performers who came to Framingham during those years.\n\nThemed attire from the 1950s is encouraged but not required.\n\nTickets are limited and expected to sell quickly.\n\nFor questions or to buy tickets for our Annual Gala Night on Sep 20, please contact Claudia Ruiz, FHC Programs Manager at claudia@framinghamhistory.org.\n
