SUMMARY:Explore the Art of the Common – Take 2!
DESCRIPTION:Hosted by Framingham History Center together with the Danforth and Framingham Centre Common Cultural District\nThe Framingham History Center (FHC) is very excited to present this free community event featuring art-in-the-making on the Framingham Centre Common and its environs. The inspiration for this event comes from the watercolor “View of the Centre Common of Framingham,” painted by Captain Daniel Bell in 1808. View this painting as part of the FHC’s “Framingham’s Top 10” exhibit, and then tour the Common to see how today’s artists interpret the same space 213 years later.\nTen local artists will set up their easels on and around the Common to paint as Captain Bell did – en plein air. Watch the artists at work and take in the history of this iconic New England setting either on a self-guided or docent-led tour. The docent tours will begin every half hour from 2:00– 3:30 p.m. Also enjoy fun for the whole family with a special scavenger hunt that includes making art!\nArtists’ paintings will be available for purchase at an online auction to benefit the Framingham History Center. This limited time auction will run from October 5-9. More details to follow at framinghamhistory.org.\nRain date: 10/3 from 1-4pm\n
