The 11th Annual House Tour

Door knockers

The Framingham History Center’s 11th annual house tour features entry into intriguing homes, gardens, and a special stop at a local town treasure. This year’s tour has three tour stops in the Warren Road area, including the arts and crafts home of renowned sculptor Meta Fuller and psychiatrist Solomon Fuller. This house noted for its history and beauty is a must see. A short walk away, visitors will be charmed by a 1920s apartment that has been converted into an elegant condominium. Anyone considering downsizing, will want to see how this unique space retains its original character. Don’t miss the other arts and crafts home overlooking Learned’s Pond while in the neighborhood. Between house visits, be sure to visit two gardens – one of which took root 35 years ago transforming an empty lot devoid of green into a beautifully landscaped oasis of perennials. The humble beginning of a late 19th century caretaker’s cottage maintains its charm after an addition by noted Framingham architect George Marlowe. And for those who have always wanted to see the inside of the Cushing Chapel on the grounds of the former Cushing Hospital, now is your chance.
